Unique Golf Artwork from Letters That Wow

A family-owned company headed up by Denis Conway, Letters That Wow takes pride in creating framed letter-art items that make unique gifts for the sports lover. The firm specializes in sports items for golf as well as baseball, basketball, football, soccer, and running.
Conway initially chose golf as the first subject to work on, while his daughter Laurie continues to expand their library of sports letter art and backgrounds which are then crafted onto fine art canvas by state of the art print technology in his shop.
Personalized creations can be a person’s name, favorite course, or a golf-related word – all using custom designed golf-ball-style lettering and combined with a photo of a picturesque golf hole. When asked what exactly goes into making this type of artwork, Conway notes that “we begin with a series of golf or other sport backgrounds created from panoramic high-resolution photographs. Most important is the graphical inventory of letter art and the technology to customize a piece by laying letters in any sequence onto the background that the customer chooses. So the customer has the ability to personalize not only by picking letters but by picking certain artifacts with it, such as a club, hat, golf bag or a photo of their home club.”
While Conway’s creations make memorable gifts for family and friends, they also work well for the world of charitable golf outings. In fact, the American Cancer Society has used items from Letters That Wow. Shawn Baker, a teaching pro at The Greens at Half Hollow GC, was able to take one of Conway’s works, get it signed by 37 pro golfers during the 2009 US Open at Bethpage Black, and then auction it off to the highest bid at the ACS event.
Denis started Letters that Wow in mid-2008 with his daughter Laurie after she had an idea to create and manipulate graphical lettering inspired by artistic pieces of chocolate arranged into letters. To this day, Conway is finding new ways to work with his inventory, such as creating sports-signature pieces and using photographic paper for alternative formats. They also create ready-made and custom pieces for sale at golf courses around Long Island.
Letters that Wow is expanding its offerings, all of which can be used for either personal or professional gifts. Visit LettersThatWow.com for more info.
