LONG ISLAND MUST PLAY GOLF COURSES
Cedarbrook Club
Oak Lane, Old Brookville, NY 11545
516-759-1600

The Cedarbrook Club has a little something for everyone.  Sportsaholics will love the 18-hole golf course, 13 tennis courts, swimming pool, and two racquetball courts.  A sauna, steam room, and exercise room will keep you feeling good, while the grille room, cocktail lounge, and 300-seat ballroom are the best places to go for a quick snack, a good meal, or even a catered party.

Golf is the main attraction at Cedarbrook.  With many strategically placed bunkers, as well as the occasional deadly water hazard, Cedarbrook’s fairways offer an entertaining challenge to golfers of all abilities.  The course isn’t the only place to work on your game, though.  The Cedarbrook Club also features a driving range, chipping green, and putting green to help hone your stroke.  Visit cedarbrookclub.com for more information on the club, or call 516-759-1600.

Pine Ridge
Golf Course Drive, Coram, NY 11727
631-331-7930

Pine Ridge Golf Club in Coram is one of Long Island’s newest and most difficult courses.  This tight, tree-lined layout demonstrates why golf is best played as a cerebral game.  Trying to bomb everything with no regard for accuracy will leave hapless golfers putting to save triple bogey more times than not.  Instead, play the best angles into the green and keep the ball in the fairway with a 5-wood or an iron—your course management will be rewarded.

Like an infant or an NFL quarterback, golf courses are known to mature and develop greatly in their second year.  After a tremendous rookie campaign, Pine Ridge will prove to be no exception—the course’s greens rolled beautifully last year and will again in ’07.  The first year rush that Pine Ridge experienced strengthened the course greatly, so be sure to call 631-331-7930 for tee times today.  Many Long Island golfers will heed the club’s advice and “bring their game” this year—you should, too!
