Making up the Board’s Mind
When a Board allows their deliberations to be limited by potential political fallout and fear of membership reaction, their ability to lead is diminished.  If meetings seem to drag for months on end, then just imagine what is happening further down the line in your organization.  Rarely is operational progress made while decisions stagnate.  Once-enthusiastic Board members and managers may be shrugging at their duties and limiting their participation under such circumstances. When a Board spends their precious time attempting to appease their constituents—in effect, being reactionary in their leadership—then trouble is definitely in store.  All organizations face times when they must adapt to changing external or internal market conditions. The fact that a club reaches for outside counsel at those times is a sign of true strength rather than weakness.

Taking the bold steps necessary to excel, no matter the source, is an admirable trait among club leaders.  CCA’s recent work on a club’s Master Plan proves that such refreshing changes are possible. After a comprehensive review of operations, CCA developed an Action Plan relating to the club’s capital programming and financing options.  These plans were enthusiastically ratified by the board and will now be presented to the membership.  The club’s leadership, management, and members are now fully energized and mobilized, giving a clear cadence to the entire organization.  Even Board members appear to be held in higher esteem as interest in club-service among the membership has increased.

When a club seeks expert advice, they are sending an unambiguous message that they are serious about change.  Powerful results occur when a Board makes up its mind! CCA can help move you through the political and managerial roadblocks that are common within a club setting. Now is the perfect time for club leaders to set a plan into motion.
