Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed the golf course at Sugarbush Resort to pay due respect to the special terrain over which it would be routed.
One of the most acclaimed architects of the modern era, Trent Jones, Sr. imbued Sugarbush with a natural feel, allowing the course to unfold with the subtle beauty that pervades this area of upper New England. The course, a 6,464-yard, par-72 layout, opened in 1961, and rolls along the hilltops of the Mad River Valley in Vermont.

The course at Sugarbush Resort is considered challenging yet fair. A perfect example of this balance is the second hole, a par-five that measures 510 yards from the tips. Big hitters can boom a drive and go for the green in two, but the wiser play may be three shots to find the green.

Located in the Green Mountains, Sugarbush Resort and Golf Course provides an ideal setting for an all-inclusive sporting getaway. Sugarbush, in Warren, Vt., is a spring, summer and autumn destination. That means world-class fly fishing, long, tree-lined hiking and biking trails, and of course the fabulous Trent Jones, Sr. golf course.

Visitors can opt to stay at several locations. The 110-room Clay Brook Hotel and Residences offers luxury slopeside accommodations ranging from single rooms to multiple-bedroom suites with full kitchens. The charming 42-room Sugarbush Inn, just off the hill, has been called a quintessential New England inn.
