Four Oaks CC Offers a Delightful Challenge

Four Oaks Country Club, located in the middle of the Merrimack Valley area of Massachusetts in Dracut, is assuming a place among the top daily fee layouts in that area of Bay State.

The 18-hole championship layout features stunning views of the surrounding countryside, an interesting routing, and a finely manicured playing surface. The track offers an enjoyable experience for both novice and expert players. Technologically-advanced GPS systems are on all golf carts for player convenience. Before, during, or after your round you can visit the “Grazie,” the club’s fine Italian restaurant. You can also stop into the Oaks Bar & Grille and enjoy a refreshment and a pub menu.

New ownership of Four Oaks, formerly Meadow Creek, has undertaken great efforts to make their club and course one of the best options for a visit from local golfers and those from out of state. The staff is friendly and the maintenance crew takes great pride in the condition of the tee boxes, fairways and greens.

While not on the long side, only 6,268 from the back markers, Four Oaks Country Club’s course places a premium on accurate shot making and the need to think out each strike of the ball. There are some blind shots, and several of the holes are tree-line, which makes them tighter than the majority of holes at Four Oaks.

Even though the course is on the short side in terms of total length, it does play to a par of 70, which adds hidden distance into the equation. While most of the par-fours (there are 14 of them) are under 400 yards and a few, like the 328-yard 13th and 340-yard 16th are definitely birdie holes, the 403-yard seventh and 436-yard finisher, which also plays as the number one handicap hole, will challenge even the big hitters to find the putting surface in regulation.

There are only two par-fives, both on the front side, the 496-yard second and 505-yard fifth, which are also ripe for the taking by strong hitters off the tee. The par-threes are a blend of long and short. The ninth plays 186 yards from the tips and the 12th 197 yards. The fourth is a 140-yarder and the 15th plays one yard longer.

Four Oaks Country Club also prides itself as being a premiere venue in the Merrimack Valley for weddings, showers, golf outings, and social events of all kinds.
