Great Golf at Ka’anapali in Hawaii

The famous Ka’anapali Golf Courses located in Lahaina on the island of Maui, Hawaii are offering Fit Club, a golf fitness program where golfers walk and play holes numbers one through six on the Royal or Kai Course anytime after 4 p.m.

There is a monthly fee of $99 and players check in daily in the golf shop and then walk the course (playing) from 4 p.m. to close. The program has quickly grown to 75 players a month, with an average of 24 players a day out walking.

A Golf My Way program is a different way for guests to enjoy golf. PGA Courses General Manager, Ed Kageyama, created a program allowing guests to play 18 holes of golf over seven days.

A Keiki (kids) set of tees on the Ka’anapali Kai Course is available all year round. The program allows for ages 7 to 17 to play their own par and yardage and set of tees. A juniors play free program (June to Aug. 31) is always a bit hit with families (times vary, call the pro shop for details).

In addition to Ka’anapali’s Fit Club and Golf My Way, Ka’anapali is expanding its reach to the non-golfer at their facility. Beginning May 1 Ka’anapali will be offering Foot Golf on the Ka’anapali Kai Course. The game is played the same way as golf, except that players use a football instead of a golf ball, and the ball is kicked rather than struck with a club, working towards a 21-inch “cup” in place of the usual golf hole.

Kageyama comments, “Foot Golf is a program we are very excited to launch at Ka’anapali. With the variety of guests staying in the Ka’anapali Resort, Foot Golf will allow not only the golfing guest but everyone to experience the beauty of the courses in a fun and healthy environment.”

Teaching programs are available at the facility with the 2013 Aloha Section PGA Teacher of the Year, David Havens (Director of Instruction), and Sutee Nitakorn, PGA Head Golf Professional.
The Ka’anapali Golf Courses are managed by Billy Casper Golf.
