La Costa Spa & Resort
For all of us looking to take a warm break during the upcoming months, Southern California is always worth considering; the SoCal sun offers a chance to leave heavy jackets and snow shovels behind, with a golf season that extends year-round.

La Costa Resort and Spa is located in the San Diego area, in the coastal city of Carlsbad, California. The resort has been recently renovated, so all of the rooms, suites, and villas are newly redesigned with a fresh look. They offer the 425 square foot Plaza Room, the 1,800 square foot two-bedroom villa, and everything in between. Each room comes with a beautiful view of the Plaza, courtyard, garden, or fairway views. While the accommodations in the regular rooms are anything but average, it could be worth it to upgrade to the sophistication and luxury that the suites and villas have to offer. Just because you’re on the other side of the country doesn’t mean you can’t feel at home with some extra living space, a dining area, a fireplace, and even a patio. If you need a little bit of help deciding on the best choice for you, La Costa has experience planners to help you plan the perfect trip.

At La Costa Resort and Spa, there are countless amenities available to you, one of which they are famous for is their spa.  It is a nature-inspired spa for “rest and renewal,” which is essential after the stressful holidays. To reduce your stress and to increase the convenience, you can schedule appointments online. Another feature of the resort is the Chopra Center. Founded by two world-renowned holistic physicians, Deepak Chopra and David Simon, this place was made to meditate your tension away. Other amenities include a state-of-the-art athletic club, waterfall showers, the Reflexology Pathway, the Kidtopia Kids’ Club (accommodates children from 6 months old to 12 years old), impressive tennis courts (which host professional tournaments),  and the Vibz Game Lounge. There are always activities for the whole family, which is why the Travel Channel rated La Costa the “#2 Most Family Friendly Resort in America.”

The resort houses eight different pools, one of which is the Edge Adult Pool. This pool offers live music and DJs, fire pits and fountains, cocktails at the Edge Bar, and views of the golf courses. It is connected to the Diversions Lounge, which is the casual dining option at La Costa, so you can order food while lounging in the pool. The more known dining option is the farm-to-table restaurant, BlueFire Grill. When you go there you will meet Chef Greg Frey Jr., who comes out of the kitchen to interact with the diners, and you will enjoy the music of live bands. Also on the resort grounds is the Legends Bistro, a family friendly restaurant that offers gluten-free options. Aside from these three eateries, there are multiple cafes for a lighter dining experience.

As you can see, there are a multitude of options for activities to enjoy off the golf course.  Now, let’s talk golf.  La Costa is the only Gold Medal Golf Resort in Southern California.  It is rightfully termed “the choice of champions” considering the people who choose to golf here, including Tiger Woods. The courses, nearly 50 years old, is beautifully maintained and remains a challenge for the modern player.   The courses themselves are aesthetically gorgeous, which is why the resort boasts about the fairway views from the rooms, pools, and restaurants. There are two courses to choose from – the South Course and the Champion’s Course. The South Course is an original design by Dick Wilson. The design is classic and good for all skill levels. They offer Junior Golf and a Golf Academy. The Champion’s Course is a redesign of Dick Wilson’s original. It is family friendly with family tees. It has been the host of 37 PGA events, which is appropriate for its name.
